Out of the Blue (Quotes, part 2)

I think 2 yo are some of the funniest people. They're thoughts and how they express them is hilarious.

1. Momma, I sooooo huuunngry. I can eat a giraffe.

2. I so get (I forget)

3. C: Hey Momma, there's an airplane.
Me: Oh, wow! Where do you think it's going?
C: Oh, to Ambrose.
Me: Really?
C: Not really. It's going somewhere to drop somebody off.

4. I don't sure. ("I don't remember" and "I'm not sure" all wrapped into one;)

5. I wub you Nelope Rae. And I wub Daddy, and I wub de boys, and I wub you Momma.

6. During communion,
Me: Jesus died to save his people from their sins. Do you know what that means?
C: Jesus died for me, Jesus died for de boys, Jesus died for Daddy, Jesus died for you, and Jesus died for Nelope.
(I guess he does.)

7. (Holding a tiny, metal, play gun making quiet gun noises) This is a whittle gun. It can't shoot by itself; it needs it's momma to help.

Making Ornaments

We find some of the best projects at Costco.

Christmas ornaments for our friends.

Everybody got 6 ornaments to paint and decorate. These are a 2-year-old's creations.

5-year-old's creations

6-year-old at work

This kept us busy for a couple of days. It's such fun to make presents for people. The kids get involved and enjoy thinking of others.

Rolling

I can roll over,

but maybe later.

Thoughts on Jumping and Other Things

It's my favorite thing to do.

It takes lots of concentration.

But I know I can do it.

Here goes. . .

Ready,

Set,

One, two, three. . .tootsies poised and ready

Oooh, just a minute, what have we here. . .

I'm having such fun.

Dad's Home!

Matt arrived home about 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. He came bearing gifts of all kinds: Christmas, birthday, goodies, and the one we didn't have to wait to open from Aunt Amy! A ninja turtle costume: this was (and is!) a hit.

Trying on the mask.

Almost "turtled"

AH HA! KIYA! Turtle power!
Today (Saturday) is the first day it hasn't been worn nearly all day, and that's only because we are celebrating US Thanksgiving in the afternoon and I want him to wear something else. Thanks Amy! They love it.

Saturday at Spruce Meadows

We went to Spruce Meadows to the International Christmas Bazaar. It was fun, not too entertaining for the boys except that their best friends came along and made it a good time. My neighbor also went with us; it was nice to have someone to visit with on the way and way back. None of us did much talking there: it was so loud and crowded (we mostly tried to keep our eyes on the children while we "shopped.")

The boys' friends' grandpa: he loves babies and holds ours as often as they're together! (which this particular weekend was ALOT)

The kids saw a fountain and stood around looking at it, talking, and

touching the water "falls."

Nice to have some excitement for them!

Before we left we headed over to see the ice sculptures.

The boys stood by their favorite for photos.

Bird and snake

And of course no stage is complete without a wildman dance.

The baby was a good sport about having all of our purchases stuffed around her.
But she was tired by the end, just like the rest of us. Our neighbors had us over for supper, which was a wonderful end to such a full afternoon. We're so grateful for our sweet friends.

Friday (a week ago)

Matt left last Friday for Toronto to defend his dissertation. Here are a few things we did while he was away.

Sunrise on Springborough Way

A naked diner

The boys' babysitter loaned us Ice Age, which we watched over the course of two evenings.
