The Dandelion (pictures from today 6/25/2010)

And the dandelions grow

Climbing up

and up onto the sandbox

Balance Acts

Our yard slants down towards the house, which is great for tabogganing but not so great for learning to walk.

She's giving it her best shot though!

Now up the steps to destination sandbox

She loves playing in the dirt with the boys. Digging, playing with the construction trucks, tasting the sand: it's all good

And up she goes, steady. . .

Yea! Applause please.

On the Side Lines

Not to be outdone. Sweet Pea shows off her tricks.

Look at that grin! She's so pleased with herself.

Running doesn't work too well yet, but she doesn't mind.

These next four were so washed out, I decided to try b/w. I might not be able to print them, but hey they work on the blog!

Look at those cheeks and chubby arms.

Ready, set,

GO!

Another attempt at walking.

As my dad said, when he saw this photo, "What kind of saucer is this and where are my M & Ms?" She's not really mad. In fact no sound is coming out of her mouth (which is pretty remarkable really, she's always yelling and shouting something) Here, she's just falling. :0)

Look Ma No Hands

Okay so I'm skipping ahead here a bit, but I don't have a whole lot of time this week to catch us all up to this moment. And THIS is a momentous week! Sunday one week ago, our baby girl took 14 steps without anyone's assistance. All last week she tettered around, crawling and pulling up on stuff and trying out the walking challenge. This week, though she does still crawl and fall alot, she's getting braver. I'm sure she'll be dashing around with her brothers in no time.

She began by playing in the very icky parts of the "sand"box. With joy, I might add. No ewwww, or touching and backing away. She's definitely the youngest with three older brothers, whom she loves and follows, determined to be a part of whatever they are doing.

Here's play by play:

Okay here she goes uuuuup. Slow and steady.

Yea! Did you see me do that?

Now turn around and a step or two (we had to be careful, this is on the deck).

In the yard, the slanted yard, we tried again.

Nope, back on the deck.

Climbing is SO much more fun. . .besides there's the sandbox remember?

She did walk in the yard, too. Yea! baby girl! The things she can get into now. . .and oh she will.

Sunny Baby

The sun was so bright she wouldn't look at me.

I tried taking from below her, but that didn't work too well either, especially because she's so very interested in my lens.

She watches the boys so intently,

and wonders about the quickest way to get grass into her mouth without me seeing.

The breeze was nice.

More Baby

It may seem like favoritism to have all these posts of the baby, but really, she's around the most and doesn't mind having her photo taken.

This is a favorite face, tongue curling.

Sometimes things just don't go her way

but that never lasts long.

Dancin' with my brother.

Most of the time she's as happy as she can be!
