Boys' Work

The boys have found a new love of building. They build with Lego, Lincoln Logs, and most recently have added Jenga blocks. One afternoon we went up to see what they'd built and they showed us the "Jungle Supply" store, complete with fitting room for warriors to try on their armor to make sure of the proper fit before purchasing it. The monkey is the owner and clerk.

The fitting room is the room off to the top left.

This is a pet shop which carries the ordinary pet and also the unsusual (that's a crocodile off to the right there).

The biggest fun has been Luke's two front teeth falling out. Luke waits until the absolute last moment before pulling his teeth. His first he lost eating a corndog at Uncle Robbie and Aunt Angela's (back in March); the second fell out at church. He's very pleased to be growing new adult teeth.

Happy Birthday P!

Sunday our baby girl turned TWO! It's amazing how quickly she's turned into a little girl and left infancy behind. Having three older brothers and determination not to be left behind plays a huge part no doubt. But still it's hard to believe she's reached official toddlerhood.

She had panda cupcakes and two lit candles (though her oldest brother advised against letting the "two-year-old play with fire").

Mmmm. Nothing like CAKE!

After supper and the boys' bedtime, P,having napped late, got to go to the park and "wing" and "fwide" with Daddy. Her tennis shoes were soaked from a wade in the water-filled sandbox so she went off in her pink cowboy boots and the cowboy hat from Gramma and Pa.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OUR BIG GIRL! LOVE.

Laissez Bon Temps Rouler!

The kids and I flew down to Louisiana to visit the kinfolks and escape the seemingly never-ending winter in Calgary. We made it down just in time for the cousins' spring break from school. And what a week it was! We had a fabulously fun time. Here are some highlights.
Poppy and Grammy with all the grandkids. What fun we all had! More to come.

I Love You Anyway: The Valentine Fiasco

The high today was well above freezing so I thought it would be fun to venture out and find an interesting place to take "Valentine" pics of the kids. We set off and found this great little spot not far from us. But there was still lots of snow and it was a bit shady so instead feeling warm in the sun we were a little chilly. That would've been fine except mere minutes after we arrived C-man fell in the snow and covered his hands in snow. Brrrrr and tears! I scooped him up and covered him with my coat which warmed him up some. We didn't stay long; things kinda went downhill from there.

Here are a few of the shots we did get.

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3

Looks very funny to catch someone in the middle of a dance move. These guys were having fun.

Everytime Sweet Pea looked up W looked down, and when he'd look up she'd look down. Comedy of Errors for sure!

The sweetest valentine

I don't know how she managed to hold onto her paper heart with mitts on, no thumbs!

By the time I could get everyone together, P was in tears, C still hadn't fully recovered from frozen fingers, L wasn't sure he wanted to hold a heart (of ALL things for a boy to have to hold!), W was such a good sport but told me later he wanted to hold his hearts high because he was blocking the sun from his eyes. Oh well! I look forward to trying this spot out without snow or coats! Then they can run, dance and laugh and I can take pictures: we'll all enjoy ourselves.

Back Blogging

Well, hi all, if you're still there! It's been so long since the last posting I'd forgotten my password to sign in. After sorting that out, I'm back.

I've hired an enforcer who promises to keep me on track! We've so much to share from the last several months. I hope to get us all caught up!
