Look Ma No Hands

Okay so I'm skipping ahead here a bit, but I don't have a whole lot of time this week to catch us all up to this moment. And THIS is a momentous week! Sunday one week ago, our baby girl took 14 steps without anyone's assistance. All last week she tettered around, crawling and pulling up on stuff and trying out the walking challenge. This week, though she does still crawl and fall alot, she's getting braver. I'm sure she'll be dashing around with her brothers in no time.

She began by playing in the very icky parts of the "sand"box. With joy, I might add. No ewwww, or touching and backing away. She's definitely the youngest with three older brothers, whom she loves and follows, determined to be a part of whatever they are doing.

Here's play by play:

Okay here she goes uuuuup. Slow and steady.

Yea! Did you see me do that?

Now turn around and a step or two (we had to be careful, this is on the deck).

In the yard, the slanted yard, we tried again.

Nope, back on the deck.

Climbing is SO much more fun. . .besides there's the sandbox remember?

She did walk in the yard, too. Yea! baby girl! The things she can get into now. . .and oh she will.

Climbing at the Zoo

One of the favorite zoo activities is climbing on the rocks like the bighorn sheep. In fact, these rocks are just in view of those Rocky Mountain sheep.

Moving Day

Our wonderful friends (with 4 boys) moved back to California on April 1st, and, unfortunately, it was no joke. No laughing about it, in fact tears fell. But before all of that, their boys came to play all day on moving day. What a blast they all had!

Don't mess with these guys.

Last man standing

The baby is always entertained with this crew full of neverending energy.

She loves all the attention: 7 brothers! Woohoo!

We made puppets,

sugar cookies (everyone cut out their own),

and each person made his own pizza for supper.

Our friends came back for one more visit before their big journey.

Last photo. . .Calgary just ain't the same without them. We miss you.

At the Zoo

We went to the zoo on a Sunday afternoon. The boys love all the animals, and, since Sunday is one day when we're all together and aren't rushing around, it seems a perfect time to nip over.

Riding a lion

statue, that is.

Listening to facts about the spoonbill
Fascinated with the flamingo

"He stands like this!"

Sunny Baby

The sun was so bright she wouldn't look at me.

I tried taking from below her, but that didn't work too well either, especially because she's so very interested in my lens.

She watches the boys so intently,

and wonders about the quickest way to get grass into her mouth without me seeing.

The breeze was nice.
